March 2010 - QUADULTRAINERS
Started in December 2008 by a group of partners from 6 European countries (Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, The Nederlands, Portugal), the Project aims at defining, validating and disseminating a European Qualification prototype on adult trainers competences, as a way to put into practice the guidelines already settled by the European Quality Framework, focused on two distinct professional Profiles and a Competence Framework - with related processes and tools - that could be understandable and applicable by many sectors, starting with the Financial and Banking Sector.
STATE OF THE ART
In February 2010 the Project entered in its piloting phase. Here you can find the list of intermediate outputs already produced, validated by a dedicated Advisory Board of LLL & HRD experts:
-
State of the Art Report on existing qualifications and competence frameworks for adult trainers in Europe: a field work confirmed the great variety of certification systems adopted by the European countries: profiles, competencies, certificating bodies are widely different across the EU. The lack of common frameworks and criteria to define their competency profile builds a barrier to the trans-national mobility of Adult Trainers. Thus the need of a common prototype.
-
Competence Framework: the model identifies 8 competency areas mapped onto 4 axes (People-Organization; Process-Product; Content-Communication; Methods-Technology); a detailed competency grading is under construction. The project team identified two main professional profiles as the most widely acknowledge by all interested stakeholders: Expert Adult Trainer, with highest expertise on contents, which includes "traditional" trainers, facilitators, coaches, counselors, etc., and (the label is still to be validated) Adult Learning Manager and Developer (Training Project Manager / Leader, Methodologies and Contents Designer, Process Tutor/Designer, etc.). For both profiles were identified:
o Core Competences
o Key activities
o Key Performance factors
o Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes
o Entrance qualification and professional expertise levels
o The related EQF levels
-
European Qualification Prototype and Methodological Guidelines: it includes a competency assessment model with a variety of tools.
NEXT STEPS
-

-
Final validation of the Piloting phase will take place in a Concertation Seminar in Berlin at the end of June 2010.
-
Web dissemination: regular updates will be published on the project site as well as on related pages (such as ours).
-
Transferibility Phase: it will be conducted in synergy with European Training and Development Institutions / Associations
-
Final validation of the Project and Transferibility actions will take place in the Final Conference (Amsterdam, November 2010).
